In my quest to see more of the country I call my home, Dubai (and I am procrastinating at work). I have decided to come up with a bucket list for Dubai;
1. Go inside the Burj Al Arab.
I drive past this building everyday, I have heard people refer to it as “one of the wonders of the worlds.” Unfortunately my current budget doesn’t cover the 1,500 dhms one has to shell out, to get tea and scones on the observatory deck… I think I will tick this one of the list, when I have some random rich relative come visit me.
2. Learn how to use a bidet.
When I moved to Dubai, I started to notice an odd looking seat thing, next to most of the toilets. Up until 6 months ago, I actually thought it was designed to clean your feet. When I learnt what it was really for, I was horrified and then presumed it was originally a French invention (because only the bloody French would come up with something that weird). http://www.wikihow.com/Use-a-Bidet
3. Learn Arabic.
I would absolutely love to learn Arabic, not so much to communicate with local nationals (as nearly everybody speaks English here). More so, for when I go home and want to impress my third generation Lebanese friends. Who think they can “speak Arabic” because they can say 2 words in Arabic. These being “Yalla” and “Haibbi”
4. Eat a Camels hump.
If it’s good enough for Indiana Jones, it’s good enough for me.
